"The City Planning Graduate Program was highly productive for me. In this studio, I realized which subject I wanted to work on. I learned how to study, how to look from different angles, and what conclusion can I reach. At the dissertation process that I am currently in, I can observe the benefits of what I learned in this studio."

"As the students of the City Planning Graduate Program, each of us were working on a different subject.  During the time we spent in our studio, sharing our opinions and contributing to each other’s ideas by sharing our works were among the most pleased experiences. In addition to our bachelor education, focusing specifically on a subject that we are interested in highly contributes to our academic development. Studying the topic in a detailed way, allows us to generate new ideas about our work. In my thesis and in the TÜBİTAK project that I am conducting, I notice the benefits of the detailed examinations made in the studio."

"I started to study in the Urban Planning Graduate Program at Middle East Technical University in the fall semester of 2019/20 and currently I am at the thesis stage. I have been working as an urban planner in Elmadağ Municipality Directorate of Zoning and Urbanization, which I started when I was a master’s student. During the period in the CP studio, the studies and projects were generally determined by the students where the studio team always encouraged the students during this process. Although we experienced a complicated period with the pandemic, we were able to successfully manage this process with the support of our academic staff and could continue our education during the crisis period. Under the title of "Cities of the 21st Century", studio students evaluated the process and cities within their own fields of study. So, I think the CP studio has been very helpful in students' focusing on their academic interests."

"The excellent patience and effort of Prof. Dr. Serap Kayasü and her studio team lead me to have a selfless, efficient, and energetic process in the City Planning Master Program. Although there are difficulties in maintaining both the business and student life, I have always tried to improve myself and gain new visions in planning through the program. The subjects studied within the scope of the program enabled me to observe the cities we live in with a more realistic and questioning perspective and to relate what I learned with real life. Besides, it was exciting to see that all of our research and studies throughout the process have become published. I believe that, with my graduation, I will continue to be happy to achieve what I want. At the same time, I think that this process will pave the way for being in different fields to further improve myself. I am currently working in the department of urban transformation in a private company. I have brought new perspectives to my professional life thanks to the knowledge and experience I gained within the scope of the CP Graduate Program."

"During the period I was at the CP studio, I had the opportunity to learn about the city planning agenda that the world follows, as well as to better grasp the operation of the sectoral and local planning processes. In this context, we had the chance to develop our studio projects with the contributions of experts in their fields. Our projects on "Urban Resilience", which is of great interest to the world and that is frequently on the agenda, turned into a publication with the valuable contributions of the Ankara City Council. As a student who is currently in the thesis year of the CP master program, I am applying abroad for my doctorate; from the institutions there, I get positive feedback about the CP studio and our study of the city of Ankara."

"Following my graduation from METU City and Regional Planning Department in 2019, I started my master's degree in METU City Planning program in the same year. After reviewing the work done in previous years, I attended the Urban Planning studio conducted by Serap Kayasü. In our teacher's words, the studio course, which covers the planning discipline of "everything under the sun", was carried out in a very enjoyable and instructive way, accompanied by current urban problems and highly productive discussions that could be effective in solving them. I made valuable contributions to my academic life with an academic paper in the field of smart cities and big data and an academic publication in the field of urban resilience. While I was continuing my education here, I was awarded a full scholarship at the University of Manchester, one of the leading universities in England. In the master's program in the field of "Global Urban Development and Planning", I had great convenience with the comprehensive and critical thinking strategies I got from the City Planning studio and the skills of academic presentation of ideas in the master's program. I would like to thank our teacher Serap Kayasü and Büşra Durmaz for their valuable contributions to me, for giving me a better vision and academic competence for the future. I think that with the completion of this program, the comprehensive theoretical knowledge acquired in undergraduate education will be transformed into practice to a great extent, and it will offer many advantages in professional life."

"Our CP studio work began with researching and discussing current planning methods. Afterwards, we chose the 'Urban Resilience' theme, which we decided to be suitable for our discussions, and conducted our personal workspaces from this perspective. During this process, we developed discussions on different topics every week, getting close to different views and issues, as we benefited from each other's work as well as conducting our individual studies. These discussions have been beneficial for us as planning is a multidimensional and inclusive discipline. I am currently in my master's thesis period and I believe the way of thinking this studio has given me has helped me a lot in creating a comprehensive study."
